If you’re wondering how to find yourself, there’s one self-improvement task you simply MUST learn to do: enjoy your own company.
Being happy alone may sound like an oxymoron, but talk to anyone 40+ and they’ll give it to you straight: contrary to what you might be feeling, being single in your twenties is actually a serious privilege! After all, your time is your
time; you aren’t living according to someone else’s demands. For the most part, you get to choose how you’ll spend your time and that’s a real luxury.
Now is as great of a time as ever to learn to be happy alone.
Know that, however you are choosing to live out your twenties, you are setting a foundation for the rest of your life. I know, I know… the pressure’s scary, but that’s why this is the *best* time for self-discovery! You should be making an effort to spend time figuring out what you actually like and enjoy doing.
Watch the video below for a few suggestions on ways to be happy + how to find yourself by…… *drum roll*……. dating yourself. I know, soooo twenty-seventeen.
The goal is self-discovery + learning to love yourself. At the end, you may not be able to confidently say “I LOVE being alone” and that’s totally fine—you don’t have to! We all have different personality types.
It’s just important to take some time of self-reflection and allow yourself the freedom to find out and choose what you actually like to do.
Trust me (and every 40+ year old woman that’s ever made the claim), by taking the time to learn yourself now, you’ll be better off in the long run.
